Altec Model Seven Complete Refoam Kit
This is the correct kit that fits on the Altec Model Seven and Seven series II woofers and midranges. Most of these woofers use a 2.75″ felt dust cap, but some use a 3.75″ dust cap.
Each Refoam Kit includes all the materials needed to repair two (2) woofers:
– Refoaming Instructions
– Two 10″ Foam Surrounds (F10-5)
– Two 4.5″ Foam Surrounds (F4-7)
– Shims for centering the 1.5″ voice coils for the woofers
– Two 2.75″ (Most Common) or 3.75″ Felt Dust Caps
– 1 Bottle of Specially Formulated Foam Surround Adhesive
*It can be difficult to refoam a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The plastic shims are used to center the voice coil and cone assembly while the speaker is being refoamed. If you do not use the plastic shims, the voice coil may be off center and it may lead to the voice coil rubbing. The midranges are small enough where it is easier to hand center these and not shim the voice coil.
